Our Whiteboard Animation Process
If you’re contemplating your first whiteboard video, but you’re not sure what’s involved in rolling it out, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. We’ll guide you through our time-tested whiteboard animation production process and keep you in the loop without wasting your time. We manage the entire process, from soup to nuts, but you get to sign off at every stage. Here are the key milestones of our whiteboard animation process.
1. Discovery
In this stage of the whiteboard animation production process, we’ll get to know who your audience is, your objective for the video, key messages, and aesthetic elements like colours and logo.
2. Script
In the script stage of the animation production process, we’ll work with you and the materials you provide to write a script that is trimmed to the optimal length, uses visual language and a conversational tone, and tells a compelling story.
3. Storyboard
In this stage of the whiteboard animation production process, we’ll produce a storyboard that separates out each idea from the script and maps out visuals for each idea using a combination of descriptions, sketches, photos and stock art.
4. Illustration
This is the stage of the whiteboard animation process when we put our heads down and start bringing your ideas to life. We’ll select a professional sketch artist with a style that is appropriate to your subject matter and audience. The sketch artist will then turn the storyboard’s visuals into original hand-drawn illustrations, created for your video.
5. Animation
We will computer render your approved sketches with a technique that is optimal for animation. Then, we’ll whiteboard animate the illustrations, using a variety of animation techniques.
6. Music & Sound
In this final stage of the whiteboard animation process, we’ll select a voiceover artist with the right tone, delivery, accent, and gender for your video and re-time the video to align with our final voiceover. We’ll also add personality with finishing touches such as music and sound effects, and motion graphics.
